Privacy

Your search is nobody's business but yours.

We built HomeFinder to be genuinely useful without watching you. Here's exactly what that means, in plain English: what we keep, what we refuse to, and how to wipe it.

The short version

No tracking, full stop

  • No ads
  • No sponsored rankings
  • No third-party tracking
  • No data selling
  • Self-hosted map
  • Self-hosted fonts

What we store

Almost nothing, and never more than the feature in front of you needs.

When you're signed in
Your email address (so we can send your sign-in link and any alerts you turn on), the homes you've favourited or hidden, and the searches you've saved. That's the lot.
Usage stats
Simple counts of what gets viewed and searched, kept on our own servers so we can see what Guernsey's after and build the right things. Signed out, they carry no name; signed in, they're linked to your account, and either way they go no further than us and never include an IP or anything that fingerprints you. We delete them after a year.

What we deliberately don't

Most property sites do all of this. We do none of it, by design.

  • No IP address, no browser or device fingerprint, no session or device id. Ever.
  • No third-party trackers, analytics scripts, ad pixels, or social "like" buttons.
  • Our map tiles and fonts come from our own servers, so loading a page makes no request to Google, a content network, or anyone else. A visit to HomeFinder reaches HomeFinder, and stops there.
  • The only cookie we set keeps you signed in. There's no tracking cookie, so there's no cookie banner to click through.

Email

We only ever send what you ask for: your secure sign-in link, price-drop and under-offer alerts on homes you've saved, and an optional weekly roundup of what's new. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can change exactly what we send from your settings at any time. We never sell or share your email address.

Deleting your account

Delete your account from your settings and your email, favourites, hides and saved searches are removed straight away. The usage counts themselves stay for up to a year like all the rest (so the island-wide totals stay honest in the meantime), but any that were linked to your account are unlinked from you straight away, so nothing points back to you.
